During the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 travel and local apps on the Android platform in the United States exhibited varying performance trends. Here's a look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

Airbnb saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads throughout the quarter, starting at around 71K in early April and peaking at approximately 83K by the end of June. The app’s weekly active users also showed a positive trend, growing from 1.14M to about 1.29M over the same period.

Expedia: Hotels, Flights & Car experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, beginning at 68K and reaching around 77K by late June. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 794K and 839K during the quarter.

United Airlines had a significant spike in weekly downloads at the end of April, hitting 247K. However, this was followed by a drop, stabilizing around 44K towards the end of June. The number of weekly active users increased from 156K to 191K over the quarter.

Vrbo Vacation Rentals showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 56K in early April and ending at approximately 63K in late June. The app’s weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained around the 1.18M mark throughout the quarter.

Google Earth maintained a steady download rate, starting at 59K and peaking at about 64K by the end of June. The weekly active users for the app remained fairly consistent, ranging from 396K to 431K during the quarter.
